Special Event Support

Looking to anchor a historical festival, add living history demonstrations to an annual event, or enhance visitor engagement at your museum or historic site? Historical Perspectives brings turnkey, mobile 18th-century living history directly to your grounds.

Whether serving as a main event feature or an additive guest experience, our setups are flexible, self-contained, and structured for steady crowd flow.

Our Core Festival & Event Package

Starting at $200.00 (Includes travel, setup, and all program materials within our primary service area).

Our standard event offering combines two high-engagement interactive activities with live period music demonstrations to create a complete historical experience for your visitors:

1. Children’s Militia Recruitment & Musket Drill (Interactive Activity)

  • The Experience: A crowd-favorite, photo-ready activity! Young visitors complete authentic 18th-century enlistment papers, receive their bounty payment, and undergo guided wooden musket drill and marching maneuvers.
  • The Highlight: Depending on your site’s layout, the session culminates in a full spectator parade with flags, wooden muskets, and fife music—creating an unbeatable photo and video opportunity for parents and media.

2. Quill & Ink Writing Station (Interactive Activity)

  • The Experience: A seamless, drop-in activity set up under our period tent. Visitors sit down for 5–10 minutes to try writing with authentic goose quills and India ink.
  • The Highlight: Ideal for event crowd flow—guests get a hands-on experience without getting tied down in a long workshop, taking home their own hand-scripted document.

3. Live Fife Music & Atmosphere (Demonstration)

  • The Experience: either at prescribed times or throughout the event, live 18th-century fife music adds authentic period soundscapes,  and enhances the visitor experience.

Alternative & Custom Event Stations

Need a different activity focus or active field experience for your venue? We can easily swap out or add customized stations, including:

  • Colonial Games: High-energy drop-in station featuring period wooden toys, cup-and-ball, quoits, and hoop rolling.
  • Craft & Trade Substitutions: Substitute or add stations like Tin Punching or Candle Dipping, paper Flag Making, or corn husk doll making for an nominal materials fee.
  • Musket Demonstration: a blank firing demonstration covering 18th-century military manual of arms, loading procedures, black powder chemistry, and battlefield tactics conducted strictly in accordance with National Park Service black powder safety protocols.
  • Native American Presentation: An engaging, artifact-supported presentation comparing the everyday life, trade networks, and material culture of Indigenous nations (such as the Muscogee, Creek, and Cherokee) with European coastal settlers—featuring corn husk doll crafting, trade goods, and handling collection items. This also features Native American flute music.
